How to Use Unifrog as a Parent

Welcome to Unifrog

At New Mills School, we believe that parental involvement is key to a student's success. To support this, we provide access to Unifrog, a comprehensive platform designed to help students make informed decisions about their futures. This guide will help you understand how to use Unifrog to support your child's career and educational aspirations.

What is Unifrog?

Unifrog is an online platform that brings together all the available information about career pathways, higher education, and employment opportunities. It is a one-stop shop for students to research and plan their future, ensuring they make well-informed decisions.

Getting Started

Accessing Unifrog

1. Login Information: If you would like a login, please email Mr Lytham at dlytham@newmillsschool as you will receive a link to create a new account.
2. Login Page: Go to Unifrog Login and enter your credentials.
3. Dashboard Overview: Once logged in, you will see the main dashboard. This is where you can access all of Unifrog's features, as a student yourselves.

Exploring the Dashboard

The dashboard is user-friendly and organized into different sections, each designed to help your child explore their future options:

• Careers Library: Detailed information on various careers, including required skills and qualifications.
• Subjects Library: Information about different subjects, helping students choose the right courses.
• Post 16 and Post 18 Options: Guidance on options available after GCSEs and A-Levels, including apprenticeships, university courses, and more.

Career Exploration

• Using the Careers Library: Encourage your child to explore different careers. Each career profile includes job descriptions, required skills, typical salaries, and educational pathways.
• Personality and Interests: Unifrog offers quizzes and assessments to help your child identify careers that match their interests and strengths.

Education Pathways

• Subjects Library: Help your child understand the subjects they are interested in and how these align with potential career paths.
• Post 16 Options: Explore the choices available after GCSEs, including A-Levels, vocational qualifications, and apprenticeships.
• Post 18 Options: Look into university courses, degrees, gap years, and employment opportunities.

Applications and Personal Statements

• University and College Applications: Unifrog provides tools and resources to assist with writing personal statements, filling out applications, and preparing for interviews.
