Key Stage 4 (Year 10 and 11)
The spring term of Year 9 is the time in your child’s education when some important choices have to be made about their Key Stage 4 courses.
The National Curriculum requires students to do a broad range of subjects which are compulsory. These are Mathematics, English, Science, Physical Education, Personal Development and Religious Education. Students are then able to choose three optional subjects.
It is very important that this is a joint decision between you and your child and that these choices are made very carefully as once they have been made, apart from in exceptional circumstances, they cannot be changed.
We will always try to give your child their first preference choices. Occasionally, this is not possible and if this is the case it will require further discussion.
